Welcome to the Home of the Sunrise Gators!

Welcome Back Gators.... The 2009 season is underway.

Pre-season ended and we had a great turn-out. Regular season starts on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 6pm. The fee will be $125 and will pay for the regular season. Players must be registered to participate practice. Sign up at the Civic Center before July 6 or at SAC once the practices begin. Practices will be held Monday thru Friday from 6 - 8pm but each team MAY differ. Once school begins, the practices will be cut to 4 times per week. Head coaches will determine days and times of practices. Games will be held on Saturdays. See SCHEDULE for dates and locations. If games are postponed due to weather then Head Coaches will be given the new day and time.

Make sure the players and cheerleaders are drinking plenty of fluids. The weather has been extremely hot lately. Stay cool and hydrated!!!

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION

You may have noticed the Park Ranger has placed orange cones in various areas of the parking lot. This ensures the traffic flow coming in and out of the parking lot is clear and travelable.

Please be mindful and do not double park behind vehicles. Frequently, our younger teams are dismissed early from practice. Many of our parents have been inconvenienced by having to wait on parents who have blocked them in.

DID YOU KNOW...????

The Sunrise Gators Youth Sports Program is a football and cheerleading program with an eye toward having a positive effect on the youth in our community. Statistics prove that children who are involved regularly in an organized sports program demonstrate that:

  • By a 2:1 ratio, boys that play youth sports perform better in school, do not drop out, and have a better chance of going to college
  • The ratio increases to 3:1 for girls
  • Adolescents who play sports have a 92% lower drug use risk
  • Girls that play sports have an 82% less chance of unwanted pregnancies
  • Students who play at least one sport are 40% less likely to be regular smokers and 50% less likely to be heavy smokers
  • 22% of today's kids are at risk of becoming significantly overweight, 11% of today's kids are currently significantly overweight. These numbers have doubled in the past 10 years. Kids involved in a sports program reduce these numbers by a whopping 80%
